This is one 500g portion of organic peanuts which have been freshly packed for you. Peanuts are actually not a nut but a legume and they don\’t grow on trees like pecans or walnuts.
Now grown all over the world the peanut was only native to South America and it is believed to come from the foothills of the Andes in Bolivia and Peru.
The peanut is a plant which flowers above ground but the peanut itself grows below the ground. To harvest the peanut, the farmer pulls up the peanut plant from the ground, flips it upside down and sets it back down in the row. The peanuts are left to dry for a few days then the farmer returns and uses another machine called a shaker or a picker, which separates the peanut pods from the rest of the plant. Then we have tasty Veganic organic peanuts.
