Dijon Mustard – Kivinat
This is a 350g jar of organic Dijon mustard and is made from organic brown mustard seeds and white wine.
Dijon mustard is named after the town of Dijon in Burgundy, France which was the centre of mustard making in the late Middle Ages. The Dijon variety became popular when the usual ingredient of vinegar in the recipe was replaced with verjuice, the acidic juice of unripe grapes.
Regular or yellow mustard is bright yellow in colour, Dijon mustard is more of a brown yellow colour. The tart verjuice liquid gives Dijon mustard its characteristic flavour.
